Chicago Bandits News Release
ROSEMONT, Ill. - Aleshia Ocasio is coming out of retirement and rejoining the Chicago Bandits for the 2020 NPF season, team officials announced Wednesday afternoon. Ocasio originally announced her retirement at the end of February but has pledged her return to the NPF for the 2020 season.
"It wasn't an easy decision to retire from the NPF. At that moment, it was the best decision in order to support my family," Ocasio said. "Not everything works out the way we plan, and given the circumstances, I want to continue to play, grow the game, and influence the next generation."
Ocasio officially marked her return when she signed a one-year contract in late March.
"We are excited and eager for Aleshia's return to the Bandits," Bandits AGM Jourdan Skirha said. "She obviously has a lot of love for the game and we can't wait to see her take the circle this summer."
Ocasio continued: "Softball is a huge part of my life -- I love Chicago, I love the Bandits and I'm excited to be back with such an elite organization."
