Checkers Release Six Guaranteed Dates for 2015-16

The Charlotte Checkers today announced six guaranteed game dates for the 2015-16 season. In addition to the previously announced first game back at Bojangles' Coliseum on Saturday, Nov. 7, the team will also play at home the following afternoon on Sunday, Nov. 8, and on two additional weekends in January and February.
The weekend of Friday, Jan. 22, and Saturday, Jan. 23, will feature the Checkers' annual Race Weekend, which will include Pit Crew Night on Friday and Race Night on Saturday. Appearances by several notable crew members and drivers will highlight each night, with Sprint Cup Series drivers Trevor Bayne, Greg Biffle, Kevin Harvick, Joey Logano and Ryan Newman all appearing last season.
Friday, Feb. 12, and Saturday, Feb. 13, will hold the team's popular Pink in the Rink Weekend. On each night, the Checkers will raise awareness and funds for the fight against cancers affecting women. Last season's event raised $25,000 through ticket proceeds and the auction of pink jerseys and helmets worn by the team.
Exact start times and more promotional details will be released closer to each set of guaranteed dates. The American Hockey League typically releases its full game schedule in mid-August.
