Las Montañas de Chattanooga scored 18 runs and only allowed three hits in their 18-0 win over the second-half first-place Tennesee Smokies.
Chattanooga's offense kicked things off in the second inning with a two-run double by Jose Torres. They added another run on a balk and one on a Ivan Johnson double.
With a four-run lead, starting pitcher Sam Benschoter rolled through the Smokies lineup. The right-hander set down the first 14 batters he faced before surrendering his first hit of the game in the fifth.
In the sixth inning, the home team broke the game wide open, scoring seven runs. In that inning, the team recorded seven hits including a Rece Hinds RBI triple and a 424-foot two-run home run by James Free.
An inning later they piled on four more runs thanks to James Free's three-run homer and a Michael Trautwein RBI single.
After Benschoter left the game, Jake Wong, Andy Fisher, and Vin Timpanelli combined to strike out three batters and only give up two hits.
Tomorrow, Chattanooga plays their final game as Las Montañas de Chattanooga. Tomorrow's 7:15 p.m. game will be capped off by another Fireworks Friday Extravaganza.
