
Chattanooga brings hot bats to plate, notches 6th straight win

Sevierville, Tenn. - The Tennessee Smokies (24-16) surrendered a season-high 17 runs in a 17-6 loss to Chattanooga (17-23) Friday night at Smokies Park. The win was the Lookouts' sixth straight. Chattanooga's 18 hits included four home runs, both season highs surrendered by the Tennessee pitching staff.
Dernell Stenson led Chattanooga's offense with three hits including a three-run home run and two-run single. James Chamblee homered and scored four times, while Dane Sardinha also homered and drove in three runs as part of a three-hit night.
Nick Stocks (L, 3-1) gave up seven runs on eight hits, two walks, and struck out four over five innings to suffer his first loss of the season.
Chattanooga starter Dustin Moseley (W, 3-2) pitched six strong innings, allowing two runs on seven hits, one walk, and also provided a grand slam in the seventh inning off reliever Jeremy Lambert as part of a six run inning.
The Smokies and Lookouts meet again Saturday night at 7:15. Bobby Basham will start for Chattanooga against the newest member of the Smokies, Josh Pearce. Pearce will be making his first start of the season since coming up from High A Palm Beach.
