Charlotte Sting News Release
The Charlotte Sting will host an open practice session on Tuesday, August 17 at the Bobcats Basketball Center in Ft. Mill, SC. Fans are invited to come watch the team scrimmage as they prepare for the remainder of the WNBA season. Absent from practice will be Olympian and U.S. Flag Bearer Dawn Staley, who is currently in Athens competing for a third gold medal. Open practice will begin at 4 p.m. with doors opening at 3:30 p.m.
This will be one of the only chances for fans to catch the team in action during the month of August, as the Sting and entire WNBA are on hiatus from games due to the Olympics. The Sting resumed practice last week and will continue to train and conduct community appearances throughout August. A complete list of community events can be found on www.charlottesting.com. The Sting will return to game action on September 1 as they host the Connecticut Sun at 7 p.m.
The Charlotte Sting are currently tied for second place in the Eastern Conference with a 12-13 record. Please call (704) 424-WNBA or log on to www.charlottesting.com for ticket information.
