GREENSBORO, NC - The Cleveland Charge (7-1) won their seventh straight game in a 112-102 victory over the Greensboro Swarm (2-7) at the Swarm Fieldhouse on Wednesday night. The Charge have not lost a road game since December 15th.
Sharife Cooper scored 15 of his game-high 33 points in the fourth quarter to go along with seven assists in 36 minutes. Sam Merrill netted a season-high 30 points on 11-of-17 shooting and 5-of-11 three-pointers in 41 minutes. Jamorko Pickett posted a double-double of 20 points and 11 rebounds with two blocks in 32 minutes. The Charge scored 60 points of their 112 points in the paint.
Former Charge G Kobi Simmons led the Swarm with 24 points with seven rebounds and six assists in 32 minutes off the bench. Greensboro had three players on assignment from the Charlotte Hornets for tonight's game: James Bouknight (18 points) Kai Jones (10 points, 7 rebounds) & Theo Maledon (14 points, 2 steals). Cleveland returns for a three-game homestand beginning with a matchup versus the Capital City Go-Go on Sunday, January 22nd at 3:00 p.m. The first 1,000 fans will receive a Charge pop-it giveaway, with postgame player autographs and free-throws!
