
Chappell Helps Nashua Down Torrington 5-3

Brett Chappell went 2-3, sparking the Nashua Silver Knights (5-2) to a 5-3 victory over the Torrington Titans (4-4) on Saturday at Holman Stadium.
He singled in the first and fourth innings.
The Torrington Titans had no answer for Clay Conaway, who kept runners off the basepaths in his appearance. Conaway gave up just three hits, allowed one earned run, walked two and struck out three during his five innings of work.
Robbie Hitt was effective even in defeat, mowing down six the Nashua Silver Knights batters and allowing two runs.
Nick Lamberti had a hot bat for the Torrington Titans. Lamberti went 3-5 and scored two runs. He singled in the third, fifth, and seventh innings.
Cameron LaFleur improved to 1-0 on the year by picking up the win for the Nashua Silver Knights. He allowed one run over 1 1/3 innings. He struck out two, walked none and surrendered two hits.
Kellen Croce (0-1) was the game's losing pitcher. He lasted just one-third of an inning, walked three, struck out one, and allowed three runs.
