Chapman Signed by Phillies

(Bridgeport, Conn. - June 23, 2015) - Bridgeport Bluefish team officials today announced that outfielder Ethan Chapman has had his contract purchased by the Philadelphia Phillies organization. He will report to Double-A Reading of the Eastern League.

"Ethan was only here with us for a short time but we were able to see that he is a very talented ballplayer," says Bluefish manager Ricky VanAsselberg. "We wish him the best of luck with his new organization."

Ethan appeared in seven games for the Bluefish in 2015, collecting a .207 batting average. He was originally drafted by the Kansas City Royals in the 30th round of the 2012 MLB amateur draft out of California State University San Bernadino. Prior to coming to Bridgeport, the 25-year-old spent his entire career within the Royals organization, reaching as high as the Double-A level.
