Champions and Capitales Suspended Due to Power Outage
August 20, 2018 - Canadian American League (Can-Am)
Ottawa Champions News Release
QUEBEC CITY, QC - The lights went out on the Quebec Capitales and Ottawa Champions Monday evening.
With the two teams playing their series opener in the top of the sixth inning, a power cord near Stade Canac was frayed, resulting in the entire ballpark losing power.
The game will resume at 3:00 p.m. Tuesday afternoon, and the teams will then play their scheduled game at 7:05 p.m.
At the time of the power outage, Quebec led the Champions 4-1 on the strength of a three-run home run from DH Zach Wilson. C Tyler Nordgren had the lone run for the Champions on a solo home run in the third inning.
While the team has spent the last week on the road, this road trip isn't nearly over. Ottawa continues their series against Quebec for three more days before returning home on Friday, August 24.
Tickets for all Champions home games are available at www.ottawachampions.com, in-person at the RCGT Park box office, or by calling 613-745-BALL (2255).
