American Defenders of New Hampshire News Release

Nashua, NH - The Nashua Pride has signed skier Bode Miller, the four-time and reigning World Cup Champion, to a one-game contract to play for the Can-Am League Champions as part of its Sports Fantasy Extravaganza Weekend. The talented athlete, who will be back for his third season with the Pride, will take the field on Friday, July 18 for a 7:05 pm game against the Ottawa Rapidz. The game will be sponsored by Stonyfield Farm, the world's leading organic yogurt maker.

As in his two previous appearances, a portion of the ticket proceeds will benefit the skier's Turtle Ridge Foundation. Another key to this season's signing includes the addition of New England Patriots player Matt Light. Light was added to both the coaching staff and on-field promotions.

Light, who started all 16 regular-season games for the Patriots this past season, is slated to not only throw out the first pitch, but also sing the National Anthem and co-coach first base for three innings.

The Nashua Pride's Sports Fantasy Extravaganza Weekend begins on July 17 with professional golfer, Allen Doyle. Doyle will be available for a pre-game golf clinic, sign autographs and also participate in on-field promotions including a chipping and putting challenge.

"Where else can a family have an affordable night of fun, see some great baseball, watch their sports heroes try something different and raise money for charity all at the same time," questions John P. Stabile, owner of The Nashua Pride. "We are so pleased that Bode and Matt are joining us at Historic Holman Stadium to offer unbeatable entertainment right here in Nashua."

"It's been a great year for me on the slopes," says Miller, "But now I am ready to get back on the baseball field to raise money for my family's foundation. I expect this year to be even more successful than last with the addition and support of Patriot great, Matt Light."
