Chad Huffman Named PCL Hitter of the Week

PORTLAND, Ore. - The Pacific Coast League today named Portland Beavers outfielder Chad Huffman its Hitter of the Week for the span inclusive of August 3-9.

Huffman, 24, batted .478 (11-for-23) with three homers, two doubles, nine RBIs, six runs scored, five walks, one stolen base, a .586 on-base percentage and a .957 slugging percentage during the week.

In 108 games with the Beavers this season, Huffman, who represented the club and the PCL in the 2009 Cricket Wireless Triple-A All-Star Game and won the American Family Insurance Home Run Derby in July, is batting .251 (93-for-371) with 17 home runs, 21 doubles, two triples, 42 walks, 56 RBIs and 51 runs scored.

Tacoma's Andrew Baldwin was selected as the PCL Pitcher of the Week after going 1-0 with a 0.00 ERA (0er, 9.0ip) and six strikeouts in one start during the week, a six-hit, no-walk, complete game shutout at Round Rock on August 5.

Both players are the first on their respective teams to earn PCL player of the week honors this season.
