Celebrate December with the RiverKings

SOUTHAVEN, MS --- December is a great time to celebrate and the RiverKings will get into the holiday spirit of things with special events during the month, in addition to great hockey with your hometown professional hockey team.

Tuesday, December 7th from 6:00 to 8:00 PM, RiverKings season ticket holders will be honored with a private party at the Kooky Canuck restaurant in downtown Memphis. Coach Kevin "Killer" Kaminski and RiverKings players will be on hand to meet and thank season ticket holders for their continuing support of the team. Those in attendance will also receive a special secret gift for being a RiverKings season ticket holder.

On December 11th, the RiverKings will support the Toys for Tots program with its annual Teddy Bear Toss night. That night, the RiverKings take on the Dayton Gems at the DeSoto Civic Center in Southaven, starting at 7:05 PM. Fans are asked to help support Toys for Tots by bringing a new, unused teddy bear to the game and throw them on to the ice when the RiverKings score their first goal. The thrown bears will be collected from the ice and will be donated to the U.S. Marine Corps' Toys for Tots effort to give toys to youngsters who would not otherwise get Christmas presents.

In addition to these special events, St. Jude Children's Research Hospital will be featured on Saturday, December 4th, when the RiverKings take on the Wichita Thunder at the DeSoto Civic Center at 7:05 PM. The RiverKings will wear special jerseys that night, which will be auctioned off following the game. The jersey auction is presented by Emergency Mobile Health Care or EMHC, the Official Ambulance Service of the RiverKings.

As you think about a holiday gift for a special friend or family member, a RiverKings flex pack ticket package is a great way to give the gift of fun this season. You receive a package of vouchers which can be redeemed at the DeSoto Civic Center ticket office for tickets to any RiverKings regular season game during the remainder of the 2010-11 season.
