Cavalry FC got their revenge at Westhills Stadium on Saturday, taking down Pacific FC 3-2 just five days after dropping their Spring finale on VanIsle.

Saturday's match featured another cagey, end-to-end affair between the two Western CPL sides looking for points on the Fall session's opening matchday

Sergio Camargo opened the scoring for Cavalry in the 21st minute, capitalizing on a quick turnover in the final third. Cavs' winger Pasquotti scored a second a few minutes later, when his soaring back-post header gave the Spring title holders a two-goal advantage to open their Fall campaign.

Cavalry could have been awarded a first-half penalty too, when PFC's Emile Legault connected with Julian Buscher at the top of the box, leading to a drop ball.

Another pair of back-to-back goals came in the second half when Pacific FC captain Ben Fisk poked home his side's opener through Marco Carducci's legs. Camargo would strike again, though, erasing Fisk's marker two minutes later with a goalline tap-in to earn a brace.

Terran Campbell gave Pacific a lifeline in the 83rd minute when a floated cross from Jose Hernandez was headed home by the 20-year-old striker, although it was too little, too late for PFC

Cavalry will now resume its Canadian Championship campaign on Wednesday as they welcome the Vancouver Whitecaps of MLS to Spruce Meadows for Leg 1 of Qualifying Round 3 (9:30 p.m. ET, 7:30 p.m. MT, on OneSoccer). Meanwhile, Pacific's next match will at home to Forge FC on July 13 (6:00 p.m. ET/3:00 p.m. PT, on OneSoccer).
