Returning to the reigns tonight, Cavalry Head Coach Michael Ray Richardson said it felt good to get back to the floor and thought it was a good effort overall.

"It was a sigh of relief to return tonight and win at home," Coach Richardson said. "We still have a lot of work to do, and we need to get a big man inside."

The Cavs came out strong and led at halftime 53-47. However, the Explorers did not go away easily and took the lead in the third quarter 55-58. Their lead was short-lived as the Cavs regained control 59-58. The Explorers came within two points with 10 minutes to go in the fourth quarter, but the Cavs pulled away to win the game.

Nate Green had a monster game for the Explorers with 32 points and 14 rebounds. Najeeb Echols contributed 21 points, and Mike Peeples and Nate Johnson rounded out the scoring with 14 and 11 points, respectively.

The Cavs are now 7-7 on the season and travel to Butte, Mont. on Saturday, Dec. 29. They will be back in action at home Jan. 2 against the Rio Grande Valley Silverados playing at 1 p.m. at the Great Plains Coliseum.
