Albany loses close battle to Minot, 105-101

In a game that was close in every quarter and down to the wire on every shot, the Minot Skyrockets defeated the Albany Patroons 105-101, at the Minot Municipal Auditorium. The Skyrockets took 5.5 of 7 possible quarter points.

For the Patroons, Jason "J-Bird" Williams led the Pats with 23 points, including 14 in the first half. Jamaal Miller's 21 points included 3 3-pointers; Miller also had eight assists to lead all Pats in that category. DayShawn Wright, the former Skyrocket returning to Minot for the first time this season, tied Amal McCaskill for the team rebound lead with nine boards apiece.

Six Skyrockets scored in double figures, including Kellen Miliner with 20 points. Ronnie FIelds, Kevin Rice and Marshall Phillips had 16 points apiece; Phillips also had 12 rebounds for a double-double. John Strickland, in his first game against his former team, finished with 14 points and 7 rebounds.

Both teams will face each other Friday, December 28, at the Minot Municipal Auditorium.
