Calgary, AB - Cavalry FC of the Canadian Premier League (CPL) has signed 21-year-old goalkeeper Jack Barrett on loan from English Premier League side, Everton.
"I'm delighted to be here, and I can't wait to get started with the squad," said Barrett. I spoke with Tommy and Jake [Davis] and was instantly impressed with their plans for this season. This opportunity is one that I couldn't miss, and I can't wait to be part of such a successful club."
The 6'3 Englishman joined Everton at nine years old and has been a member of the U18 and U21 squads, competing in Premier League 2.
"Jack fits the profile of the goalkeeper we like," said Tommy Wheeldon Jr., Head Coach and General Manager, Cavalry FC. "He is an excellent distributor of the ball and can quarterback the play, whilst being quick to deal with danger very well. He's had a good upbringing from a young age at a top club and will provide excellent depth in our goalkeeping position."
