
Cats Win Against Oneonta

TROY-The Tri-City ValleyCats beat the Oneonta Tigers 12-1 before 2,807 at Joseph L. Bruno Stadium. Andrew Alvarado allowed a run on seven innings pitched and struck out ten Tigers to earn his fourth win.
The ValleyCats started the scoring with five runs in the third inning. Michael Walls walked and went to second on a single by Lance Koenig. Both Cats moved up a base when Jonny Ash walked. The bases were loaded for Edgar Babilonia, who drove in two men with an RBI single. Then Francisco Carballo pounded an RBI single to make it 3-0. Before the ValleyCats knew it they were ahead 5-0.
The Cats scored a run in the fourth and fifth innings and pounded out five runs in the eight innings to finish out the scoring at 12-1. Ben Zobrist, Francisco Caraballo, and Edgar Babilonia each drove in three runs.
The ValleyCats now face the Tigers in a doubleheader Friday at 5:00. Ryan McKeller and Raymar Diaz get the starts on the mound for the ValleyCats and coverage begins at 4:50 AM 1160 WABY Mechanicville and AM 900 WUAM Saratoga Springs as well as on the Internet at sportsjuice.com.
