Cats Stop Roadrunners Win Streak at Five

EDINBURG, Texas - The Edinburg Roadrunners five-game win streak was snapped after a 4-0 loss to the Fort Worth Cats Sunday night at Edinburg Baseball Stadium.

Blake Nation (3-1) held the Roadrunners to just two hits in seven innings pitched and recorded two strikeouts.

The Cats (17-13) got on the scoreboard in the top of the third with a sacrifice fly from Jon Dziomba that allowed Derek Marshall to score making it 1-0.

In the top of the fourth, RBI singles from C.J. Beatty and Marshall pushed the Cats lead to 3-0.

Beatty extended the Fort Worth lead with another RBI single in the top of the eighth that made it 4-0.

Dave Dinelli took the loss for the Roadrunners (18-13) after allowing three runs on four hits in seven innings while striking out eight.

Jeff Jamnik picked up the save after a scoreless ninth for his ninth save of the season.

The Roadrunners and Cats will wrap up their four-game series Monday night at Edinburg Baseball Stadium. Aaron Tullo (2-0) is expected to face Trevor Harden (1-4) with the first pitch scheduled for 7:05 p.m.
