Fort Worth Cats News Release
Blake Nation held the Edinburg Roadrunners scoreless for seven innings to boost the Fort Worth Cats to a 4-0 victory.
Nation struck out two and allowed three walks and two hits. Nation now has a record of 3-1 on the season.
Brandon Wilkerson pitched a scoreless eighth, setting up Jeff Jamnik for his ninth save. Jamnik is nine-for-nine in save opportunities this season.
CJ Beatty racked up two RBIs on two hits for the Fort Worth Cats. He singled in the fourth and eighth innings.
Dave Dineli was effective even in defeat, mowing down eight the Fort Worth Cats batters and allowing three runs. The Roadrunners couldn't help him with scoring, and he was charged with his fourth loss of the year.
Fort Worth had a four-game losing streak heading into Sunday night, while Edinburg had won five in a row. The two teams square off in their series finale Monday night, as Trevor Harden takes the mound to face Aaron Tullo. First pitch is scheduled for 7:05.
The Cats will head home following the game and begin an eight-game home stand beginning Wednesday when they host the McAllen Thunder. Dollar Hot Dog Wednesday starts the series, and tickets can be purchased online at FWCats.com or by phone at (817) 332-CATS.
