
Perez Tosses Complete Game Gem

Harlingen, Texas - McAllen Thunder starting pitcher Alexei Perez tossed a complete game allowing one run on four hits en route to a 7-1 victory over the Rio Grande Valley WhiteWings on Sunday night.
Perez (1-1) allowed the only run to score in the seventh inning which unearned for his first victory of the season.
Julio Santana took for the Rio Grande Valley WhiteWings (18-12). Santana (0-1) allowed six runs on four hits in two-thirds of an inning of work.
On offense for the Thunder, Nathan Tomaszewski helped the McAllen Thunder (10-21) take the lead for good in the ninth inning. Brian Nichols singled to start the ninth. He then went from first to third on an error. Finally, Tomaszewski came to the plate with the score tied at one in the ninth inning, and reached on an error, bringing home Nichols and Miguel Alfonzo.
Mike Demperio racked up four RBIs on two hits for the McAllen Thunder. He singled in the eighth inning and homered in the ninth inning to put the game out of reach.
The McAllen Thunder will play the finale of their four game series on the road versus the Rio Grande Valley WhiteWings at Harlingen Field with the first pitch scheduled at 10:05 a.m.
