
Cats Sign Lefty Tripp From Tryout Camp

The Fort Worth Cats have signed left-hander Skyler Tripp to a contact for the 2008 season, it was announced today. Tripp was the only selection made the Cats in the 2008 American Association tryout camp held at LaGrave Field Thursday and Friday.
Tripp, 21, was a 20th round selection by the Los Angeles Dodgers in 2005 out of Indian Hills Community College. He appeared in seven games with the Dodgers Gulf Coast League rookie ball team in 2006 and had a 1-0 record in 6 1/3 innings pitched. He did not play in 2007.
The Cats begin spring training on April 26 in Fort Worth. Their first exhibition game is on May 1st against Grand Prairie in Euless.
