'Cats Reveal 2015 Summer Promotional Lineup

TROY, NY - The Tri-City ValleyCats, Class-A affiliate of the Houston Astros, have revealed their 2015 lineup of summer promotions at Joseph L. Bruno Stadium, highlighted by a Bernie Williams bobblehead giveaway, Jose Altuve bat giveaway, four specialty themed jerseys, 14 extravagant fireworks displays, and exciting new theme nights.

The ValleyCats will pay tribute to the long & storied history of baseball in the Capital Region on Friday, August 21 with a bobblehead giveaway of 1989-90 Albany-Colonie Yankee, Bernie Williams. He joins Derek Jeter, Mariano Rivera, and Johnny Evers as the fourth edition in the ValleyCats' Heritage Series bobblehead collection.

"Weekend at Bernies" continues on Saturday, August 22 as the ValleyCats draw a winner of an autographed life-sized bobblehead of Bernie Williams. A limited amount of raffle tickets will be sold beginning at the start of the season, with proceeds going towards charity.

August 22 is also one of GE's two Kids-In-Free Night events of the year, as children 12 & under will receive free admission with the purchase of an adult ticket, courtesy of GE. The first of GE's Kids-In-Free Nights will take place on Saturday, June 27 vs. the Staten Island Yankees.

In 2014, former 'Cat Jose Altuve became the first Houston Astro to win a Major League batting title, and the ValleyCats will recognize his accomplishment with a commemorative bat giveaway on Wednesday, July 29.

Tri-City has rolled out four specialty themed jerseys that the team will be wearing in 2015, all to benefit local charities. The jerseys will either be auctioned or raffled off during the game.

The 'Cats will wear patriotic themed jerseys throughout 4th of July weekend, and an auction will take place during the game on Sunday, July 5. On Sunday, August 9 the ValleyCats will host a Philan"tropic" Beach Party to benefit the Make-A-Wish Foundation, as the team wears Hawaiian themed jerseys.

The 'Cats put a call out to their fans to determine a brand new promotion for 2015, and the overwhelming response netted Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles Night on Monday, August 24. The ValleyCats will pay tribute to the half-shell green heroes by wearing TMNT jerseys.

The ValleyCats have also partnered with Ronald McDonald House Charities of the Capital Region for Sons of SouthPaw: Bike Night on Saturday, September 5. The night will be comprised of fundraising activities for RMHC, highlighted by an auction for leather-cut biker themed jerseys.

Other new and exciting promotions for 2015 include Christmas in July (July 15), Mardi Gras with the ValleyCats (July 28) presented by MVP Health Care, Around the World in Nine Innings (August 2), Back to the Future Night (August 10) presented by Subway, Hockey Night at "The Joe" (August 26), and SouthPaw's Not So Scary Halloween / Summer Reader Night (August 31) presented by the NY529 College Savings Program.

The fans will once again be treated to 14 extravagant fireworks displays, presented by Price Chopper. Fireworks nights include Opening Night, Thursday, June 25 vs. the Staten Island Yankees presented by Rensselaer County Department of Health, the 4th of July Independence Day Celebration vs. the Lowell Spinners, Star Wars Night on July 18, Italian Night on July 31 presented by Mastroianni Brothers, and Fans for Life Night on September 7.

Fan-favorite promotions making their return include 50 Cent Hot Dog Night (July 1), Bark in the Park (July 6), Irish Night / Going Green Night (August 25) presented by National Grid, Diamond Dig / Ladies Night Out (September 6) presented by Jewelry By Don Cook, and many more.

The ValleyCats will host two 11am Matinee Days at "The Joe" on Monday, July 20 and Tuesday, August 11, presented by Dig Safely New York.

Tri-City's 2015 season begins with a six-game road trip before the 'Cats kick-off their home slate on Thursday, June 25 vs. the Staten Island Yankees.

Individual game tickets are set to go on sale Monday, April 6, but are available now via the free MiLB Inside the Park mobile application. Season tickets, mini-plans, and group tickets are also on sale now. For ticket information, fans can log-on to tcvalleycats.com or call 518-629-CATS.
