Cats finalize 2007 schedule

The Fort Worth Cats announced today that the organization has finalized its schedule for the 2007 season. An Independence Day game at LaGrave Field highlights the Cats' 96-game schedule. The Cats open the season at home May 10 against the Shreveport Sports.
"This is the 5th Anniversary of the opening of LaGrave Field and this organization has accomplished a lot since 2002," Cats' President/General Manager John Dittrich said. "We're excited about defending our back-to-back championships. Only a handful of teams have won two in a row since we began playing. Last season was memorable in so many ways, but in this business you always have to look forward.
"We're playing five of the first six weekends of the season at LaGrave Field which is great. We'll have some new faces on this year's team mixed in with a number of players from last year's championship team. We've got all kinds of new things planned for this season including some very unique promotions. We'll once again have quite a few fireworks shows at LaGrave Field. Our fans are really looking forward to getting things started in May."
The Cats will play 48 home and 48 away games this season. All home games at LaGrave Field begin at 7:05 p.m., except for Sunday games (6:05 p.m.). The exceptions are Saturday, May 12 (Day/Night doubleheader at 1:05 p.m. and 7:05 p.m.) and Sunday, May 20 (2:05 p.m.).
The American Association will consist of 10 teams this season. The Cats will play in the South Division with Coastal Bend, El Paso, Pensacola and Shreveport. The North Division will be made up of Lincoln, Sioux City, Sioux Falls, St. Paul and St. Joseph.
Individual game tickets for the 2007 season go on sale Saturday, March 31. Single Game tickets can be purchased by phone, in person or online at www.fwcats.com.
