Cats drown Dogs 4-3 in shoot-out

After trailing 2-0 early in the first period, the Moncton Wildcats came back to get a 4-3 shoot-out win over the Saint John Sea Dogs in front of 6488 fans on Friday night at Harbour Station.

It was 2-2 after the first, the Cats led 3-2 after two but the Sea Dogs tied the game in the final period setting the stage for overtime and the shoot out.

Brandon Gormley, Mark Barberio and Allain Saulnier scored for Moncton in regulation time while Mike Hoffman, Tomas Jurco and Zack Phillips were the Sea Dogs goal scorers. Nicolas Deschamps scored on the Wildcats third chance in the shoot out for the win.

The Wildcats were out shot 38-25.

Moncton plays its final road game of the regular season Saturday night at the K.C. Irving Regional Centre in Bathurst at 7pm.
