'Cats drop second game in Long Beach, 10-4

Edmonton, AB- The Edmonton Cracker-Cats continued this three game series tonight in Long Beach falling to the Armada by a score of 10-4.

Chris Cullen got the start for the 'Cats, his tenth appearance of the season. His numbers on the night were, 5IP, 8H, 5R, 5ER, 4BB, 4K, 1 balk, with 99 pitches.

Ryan Claypool started things off for the Armada, he pitched 6.2IP, 3H, 3R, 3ER, 6BB with 6 strikeouts and 124 pitches thrown.

Long Beach got on scoreboard first, with a Ryan Brown RBI infield single to give the Armada the early lead.

Center-fielder, Chris Van Rossum, hit a two run home run off the scoreboard to even the score at two in the top of the third inning.

Cullen was relieved by Brandon Camardese in the sixth. The left-hander gave up 4 runs in the bottom of the eighth to give the Armada a 10-3 lead.

The Cats scored one more in the bottom of the ninth, but that was as close as they would come on this night, as they fell 10-4.

The Cracker-Cats second season record now sits at 19-13, 4.5 games up on Calgary for first place in the north division.

The 'Cats return home Tuesday, August 19th as they take on the Orange County Flyers. Game time is 7:05 pm.
