'Cats continue road trip, doubling up on the Armada, 10-5

Edmonton,AB -The visiting Edmonton Cracker-Cats won in Long Beach tonight 10-5, ending their three game losing skid.

Nick Peterson got the 'Cats off to a good start, not allowing a hit until the bottom of the fourth inning. His final numbers were 5.1 innings pitched, 4ER, 2K, with 4BB.

The 'Cats offense came to life in the eighth inning, when Carlos Arroyo singled up the middle, driving in two runs, followed by a Dan Luyben single, giving the 'Cats a two run lead. Second basemen, Dan Luyben batted in four RBI's in the game.

'Cats closer, Pete Sikaras came into the game in the bottom of the eighth, and closed the door; pitching two innings, only allowing one run against.

The Cracker-Cats second season record now sits at 10-5.

The Cracker-Cats will finish off this four game series versus the Armada tomorrow afternoon as they play a double header beginning at 2:00 pm. The probable starting pitcher for the first game is Chris Cullen.

The 'Cats return home Wednesday, August 5th as they take on the Yuma Scorpions. First pitch is 7:05 pm.
