5 Wildcats Alumni In Olympic Hockey:

For a franchise with only a 14 year history, the Moncton Wildcats are demonstrating the contribution the team makes to world hockey. There will be five Wildcats alumni who will play for their national teams at the Vancouver Winter Games. The list includes Martins Karsums and Oskars Bartulis for Team Latvia. Patrick Thoresen will wear the national jersey of Team Norway. For the powerful Russian squad, Dimitri Kalinin will be representing his country while Johnny Oduya will be part of the highly ranked Swedish national team.

Wildcats fans congratulate the players and remember the thrills they provided and will be looking forward to enjoying their performances on the greatest stage for hockey - The Olympic Games.

Playoff Tickets Now Available:

Catch the fever by getting your playoff package. Season ticket holders have until February 24th to hold on to their present seat. For the general public, seats are now on sale and available at the Wildcats office. This year offers a new Playoff Flex package so stop into the Wildcats office during business hours or you can phone 382-5555.

Roar Store Has Hockey Cards:

There's great demand for 2010 Wildcats hockey cards, with their new look. They're now available at the Roar Store in the Coliseum next to the Wildcats office. Drop in on Monday, Wednesday or Friday between 11am and 2 pm or on game day after 10 am. This year's cards are a collectors dream.

Petitcodiac Hosting Skills Competition:

After the outstanding reception the Wildcats received last year when they held a practice at the Petitcodiac Arena it was an easy choice to host the 14th annual skills event there. February 22nd is the date and 6:15 pm is the start time with a skate with the team followed by the skills at 7:15pm. The Wildcats coaching staff is busy putting together the two teams who compete against each other for team bragging rights. We'll announce the teams next week.

You Could Win Memorial Cup Tickets:

A vote for Lynn and Paul Melanson (who billet Nic Deschamp) could win you a trip to the Master Card Memorial Cup in Brandon, Manitoba in May. The Melanson's are the Wildcats billet family vying for the right to represent all billet families in the CHL, in the national competition sponsored by Buckley's. Go on line at www.buckleysbilletfamilies.com and vote for Lynn and Paul, at the same time you'll qualify for a chance to join the winners at the Memorial Cup. Vote once a day for as many days as you can.

Cats Community Calendar:

* The Wildcats are encouraging their fans to wear red on the February 19th game against Rimouski. It's Military Appreciation Night. A special flag ceremony will be held and members of Canada's military will receive special recognition from the Cats, to show how much we value the women and men who wear our country's uniform. You'll want to be part of the crowd for this special night.,

* It's a sure bet the Reading is Wild number of books read over the past year will soar past the half million mark this week. Last week the students at Forest Glen, Dorchester, West Riverview and Beaverbrook schools read 6007 books but that number will jump this week because Dorchester's launch was delayed until last Thursday. In the 12 years of the program, 494,426 books have been read by elementary school students. We'll headline the new numbers in Tuesday's Coffee Cup.

The newest member of our Coffee Cup question winning team is Richard Duguay of Moncton. He had the right answer to Tuesday's question and wins a pair of tickets to the Wildcats next home game on February 19th against Rimouski.
