Moncton Wildcats News Release
Standing "O" greets Teddy:
Saturday night was an emotional alumni moment at the Coliseum. Wildcats players and coaching staff lined the red carpet and 6691 fans gave Ted Nolan, the coach, who took the Wildcats to their first league championship, a standing ovation. Teddy was in the City for a Board Meeting and fund raising luncheon for the Ted Nolan Foundation at the Hotel Beausjour. In the pre-game ceremony, team president Robert Irving, presented a cheque for $7000.00 to Ted for his Foundation's work in promoting youth development in the Aboriginal community. At Friday's luncheon, it was announced that $50,000 had been raised to further the Foundation's work. Jerseys from Wildcats alumni Steve Bernier, Brad Marchand, Andrew MacDonald, Keith Yandle, Corey Crawford, Jason Demers, JF Damphousse, Ted Nolan's Rochester Americans original, along with two from Sidney Crosby, (a Pittsburgh Penguins and Tim Horton's) and one from Mario Lemieux brought in over $12,000.00 in a live auction.
Timbits weekend draws 13,000:
The 20th Anniversary Tim Horton's Timbits hockey tournament drew packed houses, 6691 on Saturday against Bathurst and 6260 on Sunday afternoon against Halifax. The numbers boosted attendance so far this season to 93,280. All weekend long, Timbits players, aged 5 to 8 year olds played on the Coliseum ice, received special medals and treats from Tim Horton's. The highlight was the Parade of Champions when 89 teams marched around the ice waving to family and friends in the stands.
Prior to Saturday's game, the Wildcats presented a cheque of $8244 to Timbits hockey.

Cat of the Day:
A special Wildcats salute to all of the Timbit volunteers, coaches and parents who make the 20th Anniversary tournament such an outstanding success.

Wildcats are giving us their favorite "Quote" for the Coffee Cup. Assistant Coach Darryl Seward gave us today's quote from legendry football coach Vince Lombardi:
"You don't win once in a while, you don't do things right once in a whle, you do them right all the time."
