Halifax Mooseheads News Release
It was only a matter of time until Mooseheads forward Mathieu Cataford was recognized for his outstanding efforts this season. He is the QMJHL scoring leader at the half-way mark of the season with 50 points and was honoured as a member of the QMJHL Team of the Week on Monday for the first time all season. The Vegas Golden Knights prospect has been on an incredible hot streak in December with 13 points in his last five games.
That streak includes a pair of hat trick performances against Gatineau and Saint John while he also set a career-high with five points in Halifax's December 8th victory over the Olympiques. Cataford notched seven points in three games last week to make his way onto the Team of the Week. He is also the league's +/- leader at +32 through 35 games played.
Here are all of the players who earned a spot on the QMJHL Team of the Week thanks to their impressive showings during the period ranging from December 11 to 16, 2023.
