Cary Invasion News Release

Cary, NC: The same two teams met two weeks ago in Wilmington, NC, but the results could not have been more different. Eager to avenge an earlier season loss to the Sea Dawgs (3-3) and coming off their first ever home loss in two seasons the night before to the PrimeTime Players, the Cary Invasion (4-2) came out focused and ready for business. Scoring the first two buckets of the game and never trailing, the Invasion dismantled the visitors at nearly every facet of the game. Cary led by 25 points at halftime and built a lead of 46 points midway through the 4th quarter. The final score was Cary 111 and Wilmington 71. The game was very uncharacteristic in the heated rivalry, with all 6 previous games decided in the fourth quarter. Cary leads the lifetime series 5 - 2. The Invasion move back to the top of the TRBL point standings with the win. Forward Matt Gwynne had 14 points and 14 rebounds in the win for the Invasion. Forward Damien Brown had 21 points in the loss for Wilmington. Cary plays next at home vs the Fayetteville Crossover on May 11, 2012.
