TRBL Post Season Plans Finalized

League officials have announced that the TRBL (Tobacco Road Basketball League) will recognize both a regular season points champion and a tournament champion for the 2012 season. The tournament will be completed no later than one week after the final regular season game and will include teams with the top four point totals for the season. The semi-finals will consist of a 1 vs. 4 game and a 2 vs. 3 game. Winners of the semi-finals will face off in a championship game. All 3 tournament games will be played at the home venue of the higher-seeded team.
"We had hoped to be able to send the TRBL points champion to a united minor league tournament this year, but it became clear over the last few weeks that more lead time would be required to secure commitments from other leagues. " says TRBL Co-Chairman and Cary Invasion owner Mark Janas.
The decision to have the TRBL tournament was made by majority vote of the member teams. "We are still committed to the idea of a united minor league tournament and hope other leagues will join us in the planning of the event for 2013," adds Janas.
