Cary Invasion News Release
Cary, NC: The Johnston County NightHawks arrived in Cary Sunday afternoon fresh off of their first TRBL win of the season the night before. Energized and ready to make another statement, the visitors stepped on to the court with confidence and knocked down the first bucket of the game. It would be their only lead of the night. The pressing defense of the Invasion kept the game tempo high and led to a host of easy shots for the home team. Offense came from all directions and from all 9 dressed Cary players. The lead grew quickly throughout the game. Cary led 76-50 at halftime and continued to pile it on in the second half. The final score was Cary 163, Johnston County 90.
Invasion guard Corey Evans (Cincinnati Christian) once again showed his scoring prowess putting up 28 points. Invasion point guard Brian Waters (Elon) dished out 11 assists. Daniel Jackson (Shaw) added 25 points and 8 rebounds for the home team. Eight Cary players scored in double figures. Former Invasion player Rodney Callwood (Shaw) dropped in 26 points for the NightHawks. Cary (7-0) plays next on May 18th in Greensboro against the Cobras. Johnston County plays next on May 19th in Wilmington.
