May 2, 2008 - USL First Division (USL-1)
North Carolina FC News Release

Cary, NC - The Carolina RailHawks Women are at training camp this week in preparation for their Inaugural Season in the W-League. Head Coach Jay Howell assisted by Monica Hall and Steven Chaconas have been taking a good look at some non roster player to fill out the few remaining spots on the team.

"Our first training sessions demonstrate we are putting together an entertaining team," said RailHawks Women Head Coach Jay Howell. "We will be fun to watch. The quality of the players on the roster will allow us to be a very aggressive, attacking team. We look forward to seeing our fans at the home opener on May 16th."

The RailHawks Women will begin their season in Greensboro, NC as they face the newly re-formed Carolina Dynamo on Saturday May 10th at 5:30 PM. They will make their WakeMed Soccer park debut on Friday, May 16th at 7:30 PM against the Atlanta Silverbacks. Fans can expect to see local talent such as UNC goalkeeper Anna Rodenbough and current U-20 US National Team Forward Casey Nogueira. They will be joining WUSA and United States Women veteran defender Thori Bryan and former Carolina Dynamo defender Tara Knauss.

The Carolina RailHawks Women will be playing seven home games starting with the home opener on Friday May 16th at 7:30 PM at WakeMed Soccer Park. Soccer fans will finally be treated to the highest level of women's soccer available in the country, a welcome return to the triangle after the Carolina Courage folded in 2003.
