Carolina League Playoff Tickets on Sale

WINSTON-SALEM, NC (AUGUST 30, 2011) - The Dash are on the cusp of clinching a fourth straight trip to the Carolina League playoffs and fans may now purchase tickets for postseason baseball at BB&T Ballpark. Tickets may be purchased online via Ticketmaster at www.wsdash.com or by calling the Dash at (336) 714-2287.

With six games remaining in the regular season for the Dash, Winston-Salem leads Kinston by 1.5 games in the Southern Division. The Dash's magic number to eliminate the Indians is five, meaning that any combination of five Winston wins or Kinston losses would eliminate the K-Tribe from postseason contention and send the Dash to the playoffs.

If the Dash win the second half Southern Division title, they will play at Myrtle Beach on September 7 and 8. Winston-Salem would host game three of the Southern Division Championship on Friday, September 9 at 7 p.m. If necessary, the Dash would host games four and five on September 10 and 11 (game times to be announced later). Should the Dash advance to the Mills Cup Championship Series, Winston would host games three, four, and five (last two games if necessary) September 15 - 17.

Winston-Salem has qualified for the playoffs in each of the last three seasons, making it to the championship round last year before falling to the Potomac Nationals, three games to one. Winston has won 11 Mills Cup Championships, five more than any other Carolina League franchise. The team's last title came in 2003.

The final home stand of the regular season continues Wednesday - Friday at BB&T Ballpark against the Salem Red Sox. Fans may still purchase tickets for these games by calling the Dash at (336) 714-2287, visiting www.wsdash.com, or by stopping by the BB&T Ballpark box office. The box office is open at 12 noon on game days and noon - 5 p.m. on non-game weekdays. It is advised that fans purchase their tickets in advance to shorten their wait times at the box office on game days and to ensure they get tickets before the games sell out.
