
Carolina Courage & Madstone Theater Team Up to Promote Soccer Film

Morrisville, NC (March 10, 2003) - The Carolina Courage will be teaming up with Madstone Theater in Cary to promote the independent film "Bend It Like Beckham" on Friday, April 11. Members of the Courage team will be on hand to sign autographs, introduce the movie, and host a question and answer session following the 7:10 pm showing.
Directed by Gurinder Chadha and starring Keira Knightley, "Bend It Like Beckham" tells the story of a young girl who must make a choice between following the traditions of her Indian family or pursuing her dream of becoming a soccer sensation.
Several members of the Courage team including Danielle Fotopoulos, Staci Burt, Erin Baxter, and Venus James will be signing autographs in the lobby of the Madstone Theater in Cary from 6:30 - 7:10 pm. Fotopoulos will then introduce the movie at 7:10 pm.
Fans will have a chance to meet the Courage players, get autographs, and purchase seats for upcoming Courage home games.
