Carolina Core FC to Take on Nova FC in 2024 Lamar Hunt U.S. Open Cup in Greensboro

HIGH POINT, NC - Carolina Core FC will host USL League Two side, Nova FC (Northern Virginia), in the 2024 Lamar Hunt U.S. Open Cup (7:30 p.m. PT; USSoccer.com).
CCFC enters the competition following a penalty shootout victory in its inaugural MLS NEXT Pro match against Crown Legacy. The goal was scored in the 91st minute, by forward David "Pachittoo" Polanco. The victory gives CCFC two points, putting the squad in 7th place in the Eastern Conference after Match Week 1.
The team will play host to United Soccer League Two side Irvine Nova FC in the First Round of the U.S. Open Cup at UNCG Stadium on Thursday, March 21 (7:30 p.m. PT; USSoccer.com). The U.S. Open Cup First Round match on Thursday, March 21, against Irvine Nova FC will be open to the public. Carolina Core FC will be one of 11 MLS NEXT Pro clubs set to compete in the First Round of the 2024 Lamar Hunt U.S. Open Cup, a spot earned by the club as announced by U.S. Soccer and Major League Soccer.
