Carolina Core FC News Release
HIGH POINT, N.C. - Carolina Core FC today announced that the club has signed midfielder Carlos Mario Diaz to a contract for the 2024 season.
Diaz, 19, joins the club after spending the previous season with the Houston Dynamo U20s. The Colombia native looks to continue his development with Carolina Core FC in its inaugural season.
"Carlos Mario is an inverted winger that can play on both sides of the pitch. He's very crafty and loves to take on players 1v1," said Head Coach Roy Lassiter. "Playing as a box-to-box player, Diaz has high energy and will help the team a lot."
The Colombian midfielder hopes to make an instant impact and bring his versatility to the squad. Diaz is a significant addition, as he's able to serve in multiple positions throughout the midfield.
"We look forward to Carlos Mario's contribution and what he will bring to the table for the team, that will also help him get to his next level," remarked Lassiter.
