
Cards Fall to Renegades

This evening at Skylands Park in Augusta, New Jersey, the Cardinals fell to the Hudson Valley Renegades (Tampa Bay Devil Rays), 6-1, in front of a crowd of 4355 fans. The winning pitcher for Hudson Valley was Eduardo Delacruz (1-1), and Miguel Aguero (1-2) took the loss for the Cardinals. This was the second straight loss for New Jersey, who fell to 10-12 on the season. With the victory, Hudson Valley improves to 13-9.
Designated hitter Casey Grimm provided a spark for the Cardinals offense, hitting a solo homerun in the bottom of the fourth inning. Sean Dobson, Wes Swackhamer, Steve Sherman, and Brady Toops also had hits for New Jersey. Pitchers Chris Bova (2.1 IP) and Michael Sillman (1 IP) each recorded scoreless outings.
The Cards are back in action tomorrow night when they travel to Hudson Valley and on Monday night at the Staten Island Yankees (New York Yankees). They return home to Skylands Park on Tuesday night at 7:15 pm against Staten Island. There will be a poster giveaway sponsored by Valley National Bank and The Daily Record. Following the game there will be a post-game party at the Hampton House Bar & Grill. On Wednesday, the Cards travel to play the Yankees and then Thursday night return home at 7:15 for game four of their five-game series with Staten Island. Denny Tilton & Friends will entertain the crowd and the first Miller Bat Bonanza will take place.
