This evening at Skylands Park in Augusta, New Jersey, the Cardinals knocked off the Staten Island Yankees (New York Yankees) and ended a three-game losing streak, 6-2. In his third start of the season, Michael Parisi (1-2) picked up his first win of the season as he out-pitched Yankees pitcher Mike Knox (1-2). Chris Della Rocco worked the final three innings for his first save of the season.

In the 6th inning the Cardinals were down 2-1 until the rally cow went to work. Jake Mullinax and Steve Sherman led of with consecutive singles. One out later Tim Cantu doubled home two runs, and with two outs Sean Dobson and Wes Swackhamer both had RBI singles. Mike Parisi had his best outing of the year allowing 2 ER on 4 hits while striking out 3 over 6 innings of work. Dobson, Swackhamer, Mullinax and Sherman all recorded two hits for the Cards offense.

The Cards are back in action tomorrow night when they travel to Staten Island. They return home to Skylands Park on Thursday night at 7:15 pm for another game with the Yankees, and then travel to Staten Island for a doubleheader on Friday. The club then travels to Aberdeen on Saturday to open a three game set. Thursday night, Denny Tilton & Friends will entertain the crowd before, during and after the game, and the first Miller Bat Bonanza will take place.
