Cards Crack Crabs
May 14, 2009 - Florida State League (FSL1)
Palm Beach Cardinals News Release
Palm Beach played like a big league club tonight. They beat Charlotte 2-0 in a win that was brilliant to watch. Apart from an error, made by Domnit Bolivar in the top of the fifth the Cards played flawless ball. Nick Additon went six innings allowing three hits and no walks. The relief pitching has been a headache for the Birds as of late. However, that was not the case tonight. Additon handed the ball to Samuel Freeman who hurled two hitless innings. Adam Reifer closed the game out doing the same no hits and no walks. As a whole the Cardinals pitchers allowed only three hits with no walks and no runs scored.
The Cardinals offense had seven hits tonight that put them in line for the win. Curt Smith went two for three. Francisco Rivera who is heating up went two for three as well with two runs scored. Rivera is hitting .438 in his last four starts.
Palm Beach continues the series tomorrow at 7:05 pm.
