Springfield Cardinals News Release
Springfield, MO - The Springfield Cardinals, Double-A affiliate of the 11-time World Champion St. Louis Cardinals, along with John Q. Hammons Industries, are excited to announce plans for a new state-of-the-art 13HD LED Video Display at Hammons Field.
The new Video Display, produced by Daktronics, will replace the existing structure at the ballpark which had been installed prior to the Cardinals inaugural season in 2005. A major upgrade in size and technology, the new cutting-edge Video Display will be the first 13HD display in Double-A Baseball, providing an unparalleled level of crisp, clear imagery with wide angle visibility for an unbeatable view from any seat in the ballpark.
In addition to its exceptional quality, the new Video Display will measure 34 feet high by 66 feet wide with 2,244 square feet of digital space, putting it in the top 5 largest displays of all 160 Minor League teams.
"We are incredibly excited about the new Video Display at Hammons Field," said Springfield Cardinals Vice President / General Manager Matt Gifford. "The Springfield Cardinals are grateful to John Q. Hammons Industries for having made this upgrade possible in the spirit of celebrating Mr. Hammons' legacy and his immense passion for sports. The new display is going to both enhance the landscape of the ballpark and allow us to continue to improve our fans' entertainment with unprecedented features, promotions and information. We can't wait for everyone to experience the new display on April 14 at Opening Night."
The new Video Display will incorporate variable content zoning which will allow it to show one large image or to be divided into multiple windows to show any mixture of live video, instant replay, up-to-the-minute statistics, lineups, graphics and animations, and sponsorship opportunities.
Daktronics LED video and messaging display technology features industry-leading environmental protection for a long lifetime with consistent performance and low power consumption, providing both value and excitement for years.
"Daktronics is proud to partner with the Springfield Cardinals and John Q. Hammons Industries to enhance their overall gameday experience at Hammons Field," said Ryan Kuzman, Daktronics sales representative. "As one of the first Minor League teams receiving this premier 13HD product, the Cardinals are going to be able to provide their fans with an experience similar to the Major Leagues at the Minor League level. We're truly excited to see this project take shape and have a significant impact today and for many years to come."
