New Jersey Cardinals News Release
The New Jersey Cardinals have announced the addition of a 46th round draft pick Jason Galbraith. Galbraith, a 63, 210 pound left-handed pitcher, attended Concordia University and is from Lake Peekskill, New York. Between 2002-2003, Galbraith has compiled a 1-2 record for three different teams. The Johnson City Cardinals, Peoria Chiefs, and Palm Beach Cardinals each used his services over that span.
Andrew Ginther, catcher, returns to the Cardinals after playing three games for the Midwest Leagues Peoria Chiefs. In eight at-bats for the Chiefs, Ginther hit safely twice along with one RBI. He played two games in late June for the New Jersey Cardinals and returns to their roster today.
The ascension of Rich Scalamandre continues today, as he is now a member of the Peoria Chiefs. This season, Scalamandre (1-0) appeared in eight games and posted 2.25 ERA.
The St. Louis Cardinals stated the release of Josh Bridges, right-handed catcher, from his contract.
For the second time in 2003, the Cardinals will play a doubleheader against the Brooklyn Cyclones. The opener begins at 5 PM EST, while game 2 will follow the conclusion of the first contest. The June 21st rainout is being replayed as the first game of the doubleheader. Team Posters will be given out at the gate courtesy of Phils Ford Lincoln Mercury.
