Captains to Host National Anthem Tryouts

The Lake County Captains will hold tryouts for national anthem singers on Saturday, March 14th from 1:00 PM to 3:00 PM at Classic Park. Please contact Jonathan Levey at jlevey@captainsbaseball.com with any questions and to RSVP for the auditions.

All individuals and groups who are interested in singing "The Star Spangled Banner" prior to a 2009 home game can audition on this date, including those who have performed in the past.

Anthem tryouts are available on a first-come, first-served basis during the designated time period. This will serve as the only live audition date prior to the 2009 season. All interested parties will be required to sing a live, a capella version of the national anthem over the PA system at Classic Park.

Captains Indoor Batting Cages Available for Rent

The Lake County Captains are accepting reservations to use the indoor batting cages at Classic Park. Reservations can be made by calling Rob Demko at the Captains office at 440-975-8085 ext. 117 during normal business hours. The cages will be available for rent Monday through Friday from 4:00 PM to 9:00 PM, starting February 23rd through March 27th.

The rental charge for the facility will be $90 for one hour. The Captains will provide two pitching machines, baseballs for the machines, protective screens, and batting tees. Baseball bats and protective head gear will need to be provided by the participants. There is a limit of 25 people per session.

Softball teams are also welcome but will have to provide their own softballs as well.

Community Programs

The Captains are excited to be involved with many area charities and activities aimed at development, enrichment and advancement of the community.

READING PROGRAM Students in grades K-8 can earn points for reading and attend a Captains game for free!
