Lake County Captains News Release
(Eastlake, OH) - The Lake County Captains, the class A affiliate of the Cleveland Indians, will host Randy Carver and Carver Financial Services, Inc. 27th annual food drive and client appreciation event at Classic Park in Eastlake on Friday August 21. Game time is 7 PM.
Since 1988 Randy Carver, the President of Carver Financial Services Inc. of Mentor, has held an annual client appreciation event and asked the thousands who have attended to bring non- perishable food items. Since its inception an estimated 305,000 lbs of food (representing over 110,000 meals) has been donated to people in Lake County.
"Our annual client appreciation event is a way to say thank you to our clients but it has also been a wonderful way for our clients to help others throughout the community during these difficult times". Food will be donated to the Lake County Salvation Army of distribution.
The Salvation Army is a great reminder of the good and impact an organization can have on a community. In 2014, they served over 23,000 meals for people of all ages; they gave out MORE THAN 1,400 Emergency Grocery Bag orders that represent ROUGHLY 5,500 people; during the Holiday's they distributed almost 1,000 Christmas Assistance Food orders.
"The food we utilize comes from all over the county through donations", says Bob Bender, the Major at the Painesville location. "In addition to donations, not only do we collect canned food, any monetary donations are used to purchase food from the food bank and various other locations. "As you can see it is very important that we collect and utilize our food wisely". "Carver Financial Service's collection at the August 21st Captains game is very important and we will have volunteers on hand to assist with the collection", said the Major.
Individual game tickets for these, and all Captains games, may be purchased at the Captains official website www.CaptainsBaseball.com.
