
Captains Sweep Dragons & Win Finale 11-2

Lake County Captains News Release
(Eastlake, OH) - The Lake County Captains (19-17, 50-55) defeated the Dayton Dragons (13-23, 43-62) by a final of 11-2. Lake County scored seven runs in the seventh and eighth to cruise to the series sweep.
Lake County scored three runs in the bottom of the fourth inning. Bryson Myles reached on an error and Alex Lavisky hit his eighth homerun of the season and the score was 2-0 Captains. Todd Hankins hit a double to left field and moved to third on a ground ball, and later scored on an error and the Captains led the ballgame 3-0.
In the fifth inning, Dayton got on the scoreboard. With one out, Ryan Wright walked and was the first base runner of the ballgame for Dayton. Wright took second on a wild pitch and scored on a double error by Francisco Lindor. The score was 3-1 Captains. Lake County countered in the bottom half of the fifth with a run of their own. Lindor singled, and moved to second on a groundout, and scored on a base hit by Bryson Myles. The score was 4-1 Captains.
Dayton got another run when Joe Terry hit a homer off the scoreboard in right field and the score was 4-2 Lake County. The homer was the first hit of the day to Dayton. The two run lead did not last long as the Captains erupted for seven runs in the seventh and eighth inning.
LHP Danny Jimenez (1-1) got the start for Lake County. Jimenez did not allow a hit in five innings of work. Jimenez allowed one un-earned run, he walked one and struck out six. Jimenez earned the win. Antwonie Hubbard pitched two innings he allowed three hits one earned run, one walk and three strikeouts. Hubbard gave up a homer to Joe Terry as well. Louis Head pitched the final two innings for Lake County and did not allow a run.
RHP Jacob Johnson (1-4) started the ballgame for Dayton. Johnson took the loss. Johnson worked six innings allowing eight hits, four runs, two runs were earned. Johnson struck out three and allowed a homer to Alex Lavisky. The Dayton bullpen allowed five hits, seven runs, and six were earned. The bullpen also walked three and hit one batter.
The Captains will be on the road on Tuesday Night in Comstock Park, Michigan. Lake County will send RHP Mason Radeke (5-5, 3.80) to the hill to start. The West Michigan Whitecaps will counter with LHP Kyle Ryan (5-6, 4.10)
