*YESTERDAY: *The Captains earned their first series victory in three weeks with a 3-1 win over the Quad Cities River Bandits on Sunday afternoon at Modern Woodmen Park. *Tanner Tully* pitched six strong innings and allowed just one run to earn the win in his first start of the year. *Li-Jen Chu* plated the eventual game-winning run with an RBI double in the sixth.

*SERIES VICTORY DROUGHT OVER: *The Captains had lost their last four series before defeating Quad Cities on Sunday. Lake County's last series victory before Quad Cities was April 17-19 against Bowling Green at Classic Park.

*KEEP IT IN THE PARK: *Lake County's pitching staff did not allow a home run in the three-game series at Quad Cities over the weekend. The River Bandits lead all of Minor League Baseball with 37 homers. No other Midwest League team has held Quad Cities homerless this season. The Captains hit three home runs of their own in the series. *Emmanuel Tapia* went deep twice and *Luke Wakamatsu *hit his first homer since 2015.

*REASON TO HOPE: *Most of this year's Lake County Captains were members of the Mahoning Valley Scrappers, the Indians' Short-Season affiliate, in 2016. That Scrappers club got off to a slow start in the first month of the season, going 3-11 in June with a .197 team batting average. This year's Captains batted .219 through the first month. The 2016 Scrappers went on to go 15-12 in July and 19-15 in August/September.

*BABY COME BACK: *Thursday's win marked the first time this year that the Captains have won a game when trailing after eight innings. Lake County is now 1-16 when trailing after eight. The Captains are also 3-15 when the opposition scores first. On the plus side, the Captains are 11-0 when leading after six and seven and they are 10-0 when leading after eight innings. The Captains are 9-2 when they score first.

*SPEED DEMONS: *The Captains boast two of the fastest players in the Indians' organization in *Gabriel Mejia *and *Todd Isaacs*. Both are rated as 80-grade runners on the 20-80 scale. Mejia is regarded as the fastest runner in the Indians' organization, while Isaacs was ranked by *Baseball America* as the Indians' fastest runner last year. Isaacs is third in the Midwest League with 10 stolen bases.

*RUN DIFFERENTIAL: *The Captains are 10th in the MWL in run differential at -13 (111 R, 124 RA). They trail Quad Cities at +55 (165 R, 110 RA), Dayton at +34 (157 R, 123 RA), West Michigan at +28 (116 R, 88 RA), Cedar Rapids at +27 (120 R, 93 RA), South Bend at +27 (154 R, 127 RA), Kane County at +23 (108 R, 85 RA), Beloit at +10 (119 R, 109 RA), Lansing at +3 (164 R, 161 RA), Bowling Green at -3 (117 R, 120 RA).

*POWER POTENTIAL: *Captains slugger *Emmanuel Tapia* is second in the Midwest League with seven home runs and he leads the Indians' organization in both home runs and RBI's (18). He also has the second-most strikeouts in the league with 43.

*1,000 GAMES IN MWL: *Today's game marks the 1,000th game the Captains have played in the Midwest League. Lake County has been in the Midwest League since 2010. Prior to that, the Captains played seven seasons (2003-09) and 970 games in the South Atlantic League.
