Captains Begin Action-Packed Seven-Game Home Stand Tomorrow

(Eastlake, OH) - The Lake County Captains, class A affiliate of the Cleveland Indians, will begin a jam-packed, seven-game home stand tomorrow as the Lansing Lugnuts (Blue jays) and Great Lakes Loons (Dodgers) make their final regular season appearances at Classic Park this season.

The home stand begins Tuesday with a 7 PM start versus the Lugnuts. Legendary Major League Pitcher Denny McLain will be in attendance on this night signing FREE autographs for fans in attendance.

Wednesday is a special 11 AM start and many local day camps will be in attendance. Professional Football player Joe Haden will be participating in an on-field ceremonial first pitch before the game.

Thursday is Thirsty Thursday, presented by Labatt Blue and ESPN 850 WKNR and features a .25-cent Labatt Blue Happy Hour from 6 PM until game time at 7 PM, and half-price domestic draft beer and fountain soda specials until 9 PM.

As part of Thirsty Thursday, the Captains will also offer an all-you-can eat wing and pizza buffet outside the Corona Castaways Bar for only $13.

Friday's 7 PM game is a Fireworks Friday Night presented by Universal Windows Direct with the fireworks show featuring a Frank Sinatra and Dean Martin soundtrack to coincide with the annual Italian Heritage Night.

The Captains will offer traditional Italian fare for sale, including Cavatelli, Italian Sausage and Connolis. There will be a pre-game bocce ball tournament and the Italian National Anthem will be sung prior to the game.

Saturday is a 7 PM start time and is a special Star Wars-themed Fireworks Saturday Night presented by Monreal Funeral Home & Cremation Services. The first 3,000 fans in attendance will receive a Glow Stick to help light up the night during the fireworks extravaganza.

The Captain's annual Star Wars Night will feature many Star Wars-themed events, including a pre-game costume contest and appearances by Star Wars character impersonators. Kids that dress up have the opportunity to participate in themed in-game promotions. A Star Wars ticket package is available that includes a ticket to the game and a light saber for $15. That package must be purchased by July 11th in order to reserve the light saber in advance.

The Captains will wear Star Wars themed jerseys and fans will have the opportunity to bid on the jerseys and take them off the player's backs during a post-game on-field presentation. All jersey auction proceeds benefit Captains Charities.

Sunday's special game time is 6:30 PM and is a Family Fun Sunday which will include a pre-game player autograph session, concourse entertainment and activities, as well as the opportunity for kids to run the bases after the game.

The Captains annual Pre-Game Mass, part of the Captains Faith Night, will take place before the game at 4:30 PM.

Sunday will feature the first of two Sunday Fireworks Nights, presented by Drug Mart. Fans will be treated to a post-game fireworks extravaganza set to a Superhero-themed music soundtrack to coincide with the many superheroes that will be on hand to meet fans and take photos.

The home stand concludes on Monday with Buck Night and will feature $1 Five Star Brand Hot Dogs, chips, French fries, popcorn, soda and beer and $1 off a box seat ticket. Game time is 7 PM.
