Caps Fall 5-3 to Dubuque

After recording three points out of four available last weekend, Madison returned home for the start of a home-and-home series with Dubuque. Effort has been the biggest thing preached since the coaching change, and Madison showed that early on.

In the first period of play, Madison was able to strike with a goal from Jack Brandt. Brandt's seventh of the season was deflected in off of a rebound of a Matthew McGroarty shot on goal. The Caps took the one-goal advantage into the break.

Madison extended the lead to two in the second period with a goal from Max Nagel, who had multiple chances on the shift. Later on in the period, Dubuque tallied two unanswered to even things at intermission.

In the third period, the visitor jumped out to their first lead of the night. A power play goal from Will Felicio got the Capitols close, but Madison fell by a final score of 5-3.

Madison falls to 13-29-2-2 on the season and heads to Dubuque tomorrow night looking to force a series split. Puck drop is scheduled for 7:05 pm.
