Madison Capitols News Release
Madison, WI- The Madison Capitols will look to build off a first season, that saw them win 24 games, as they take part in the 2015 USHL Draft on Monday and Tuesday.
Fans can follow along with the draft via web stream on www.ushl.com, as well as on the Capitols' website and social media feeds, which will be live-updating Madison's selections with information about each of the prospects selected.
The Capitols are on Facebook at www.facebook.com/madcapshockey, as well as on Twitter at www.twitter.com/madcapshockey.
The USHL Draft is split up into two different stages. In Phase One, which will begin at 6:00 p.m. (CDT) on Monday, May 4, all players drafted will be 1999 birth-year players.
Players drafted in Phase One, also known as the Futures Draft, do not ordinarily play a full USHL season in the upcoming year. However, Madison saw three of its 2014 Phase One draft picks take to the ice in the 2014-15 season. Among them was Stoughton native Cole Hults, who skated in nine games for the Capitols.
Phase Two, which will begin at 8:00 a.m. (CDT) on Tuesday, May 5, is open to players of all ages eligible to play in the USHL and not currently under the protection of another USHL franchise.
Phase Two will continue until all teams have filled their roster to a total of 45 players. Included in that total is each team's list of "affiliate players", normally reserved for younger players who are still developing at lower levels prior to their time in the USHL.
Madison Capitols 2015-16 season tickets and 12-game packages for next season are available now by visiting www.MadCapsHockey.com. Fans who pay in full for season tickets by June 1 will receive a specialty season ticket holder jersey. Packages can also be purchased by calling (608) 257-CAPS (2277).
