SIOUX FALLS, S.D. - After the Tri-City Storm overcame a two-goal third period deficit, Ryan Schwalbe gave the Sioux Falls Stampede a 4-3 victory with just 1:33 remaining in Game 3 of the Western Conference Final at the Denny Sanford Premier Center. Sioux Falls now leads the best-of-5 series 2-1.

Chris Wilkie, Mason Appleton and Chase Berger scored for Tri-City in the loss, while Bobby Nardella picked up two assists.

The Stampede got ahead early when Troy Loggins scored his first of the night at 4:47 of the opening period. Sioux Falls had control of the period, outshooting Tri-City 14-2 through the first 20 minutes.

Wilkie tied things up at 1-1 with his second goal of the playoffs, burying a power play one-timer from Mason Appleton at 7:23 of the second. Nardella had the second assist on the goal.

But Sioux Falls regained the lead with just four seconds to go in the middle period. Loggins tapped a loose puck in the crease off Dillon's back and into the net for his second score of the game to make it 2-1.

In the third, Logan O'Connor made it 3-1 Stampede with an unassisted short-handed breakaway goal 6:08 into the period.

But the Storm battled back, scoring a 5-on-3 power play goal to cut the score to 3-2 at 11:06 of the final frame. Appleton found the back of the net for the fourth time during the postseason from Nardella and Nick Master.

Tri-City then evened the game on a goal by Chase Berger with less than five minutes left in the contest. Wade Allison skated the puck deep into the Sioux Falls zone and got it to Dan Labosky, who found Berger in front for the equalizer.

Schwalbe responded with the game-winning tally, shoving a puck past Storm goaltender Alec Dillon from an odd-angle on the goal line to make it 4-3.

The series will continue with Game 4 on Saturday night in Sioux Falls at 7:05 p.m.
